All U.S. States require post-secondary educational institutions to be legally authorized to provide post-secondary educational instruction in their states. Many of these state laws and regulations also apply to online, distance and correspondence educational instruction offered in that state. The University of Louisiana and its online programs must be authorized in certain states prior to offering those courses or programs to students residing in those states.
Online programs are approved and regulated by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors and the Louisiana Board of Regents.
Enrollment in an online program does not guarantee certification or licensure at the local, regional, state or national level. Students seeking certification/licensure should contact the appropriate governing body (ex. Department of Education, Board of Nursing, National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, etc.) or the state in question to confirm certification or licensure requirements.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is not regulated in Texas under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code.
