Not only has the University of Louisiana at Lafayette online Health Promotion & Wellness program been ranked among the best online bachelor’s degrees in kinesiology, but it’s also highly ranked among the most affordable.
The 100-percent online health and wellness degree prepares graduates to encourage healthy lifestyles and promote wellness through education in the workplace and in communities.
The website Best Medical Degrees places the UL Lafayette program among the Top 5 Best Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, based on U.S. News and World Report rankings of universities and colleges and Forbes Magazine Best Value Colleges.
U.S. News and World Report places UL Lafayette’s Online Programs among the top 100 in the country, and Forbes lists the University as a “best value college,” where students pay the least for a healthy return.
Not surprisingly, the online Bachelor of Science program was also ranked No. 3 by Best Value Schools among its ranking of Top 14 Online Health Studies and Health Education Degree Programs.
“These online colleges are all accredited, of great quality, but also very affordable,” the site notes in regard to the rankings.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of health educators is projected to grow 21 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.
Health Promotion and Wellness graduates leave the program with a wide range of opportunities as community health educators, nutrition coordinators, family planning or services counselors, grant writers, wellness coordinators, lactation consultants, youth program specialists, and more. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates five out of 10 health educators work in healthcare and social assistance.

LeBlanc, M.Ed., Health Promotion and Wellness program coordinator, said faculty involved in the program have all been certified through the UL Lafayette Office of Distance Learning as Certified Course Designers and Certified Online Teachers to, “maintain rigorous and contemporary content for our students.”
