The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's award winning ULearn course certification and faculty development process developed and implemented by the Office of Distance Learning uses a rigorous approach to course quality that is based on the Quality Matters (QM) standards for online learning. The standards are set to improve student learning outcomes, retention, prevent cheating, promote interest in course content as well as promote lifelong learning.
The ULearn course certification process also includes a peer-review element that certifies that each course delivered meets the QM standards of quality and receive a well-designed course experience. Each course is reviewed by a minimum of seven university peers before being awarded the ULearn certification.
Online courses, degree, and certificate programs are delivered not only by ULearn certified faculty, but are also designed around national standards of quality that promote learner engagement. The ULearn course certification process ensures that online and hybrid students have all of the tools and resources needed to be successful online or hybrid learners.
