Online Orientation
New online undergraduate students at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette must complete Online Student Orientation in order to prepare for the transition to online learning and, for many, the return to college.
RN to BSN students participate in a separate orientation as part of their curriculum when they enroll in NURS 353.
The course is composed of seven topics structured similarly to courses students will encounter in their curriculum.
The course guides students through online student resources and support at UL Lafayette as well as some of the basics for communicating in an online environment.
The free, self-paced orientation for Students in Online Programs is available in Moodle. The course is located in the Student Information Block on the Moodle home page. Click the “Orientation - Students in Online Programs” link, log in to Moodle (using your ULID and password) and self-enroll in the course. Once you complete the course you will receive a specific user identified Certificate of Completion.
If you are enrolled in an online undergraduate degree or certificate program, your academic advisor will request your Orientation Certificate of Completion before advising you for the first time. Forward your certificate of completion to your advisor when arranging your advising appointment. Your advising hold will be lifted by your advisor once your certificate of completion of online orientation has been received and you have been advised.
