Tuition FAQs
This page covers some of the frequently asked questions about tuition for UL Lafayette online students. If you have questions about your statement of account or financial aid, reach out to faonline@louisiana.edu. Remember to include your ULID and the semester you're inquiring about.

Does tuition include materials?
Online tuition does not include textbooks or course-specific fees, including those associated with online proctored exams.
Online students have access to a wealth of degree-specific learning resources through the Dupre Library’s online services, tools from Microsoft Office 365, Moodle and email help from IT Support, and support through 24/7 live tutoring.
Am I eligible for financial aid and scholarships?
Yes! Because the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s is an accredited institution, online students are eligible to apply for federal and state financial aid, as well as scholarships, for all online degree and certificate programs.
Can I register for on-campus courses?
If you and your advisor determine an on-campus course is necessary for your degree plan or progression, you must fill out a waiver to retain your course schedule.
Students who receive approval for an on-campus or hybrid course must purchase the Campus Connection Plan through the Bursar’s Office.
Can I access on-campus services?
Online students can pay an additional fee to participate in club and intramural sports and access transportation services, campus childcare, the recreation center, and Student Health Services.
Please note that some services, including childcare and Student Health Services, have separate costs.
Students can purchase a Campus Connection Plan from the Bursar’s Office for access to these resources and facilities.
Can I get a Cajun Card?
All UL Lafayette students can receive a University ID to access on-campus services, events, and receive discounts through the Red Dot Discount program. Students must go to the Student Union with a photo ID to get their Cajun Card.
Can I attend graduation?
Absolutely! All students who have completed their degree requirements and applied for graduation are invited to attend semesterly commencement ceremonies.
Can I join student organizations?
Yes. As long as online students meet any major, GPA, or involvement requirements, they can join student and campus organizations.
Can I attend Ragin’ Cajun Athletics events?
Online students have access to Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Athletics events, as well as online library services, Career Services, Microsoft Office 365, IT Support, and 24/7 live tutoring.
